About Instrument Clusters / Speedometers

The instrument cluster (speedometer / gauge cluster) is the electronic unit that displays the vehicle's speed, RPM, fuel level and warning lights. Replacement may be necessary in cases such as display failure, needle errors or warning lights not coming on.Instrument clusters may contain mileage and immobilizer data. Where is the part number written?

It is on the label on the ECU. Check for numbers starting with 0281… for Bosch, S1… or 5WS… for Siemens/Continental, as well as the vehicle manufacturer's number.
