The instrument cluster is the electronic unit that shows the driver speed, RPM, fuel level, engine temperature and warning lights. In modern vehicles, the cluster is also part of the vehicle network. On some models, it also stores immobilizer and mileage data.
Fault symptoms
- Gauges not working at all, sticking or showing incorrect values
- Display or backlighting going dark, missing pixels
- Warning lights never coming on or staying on constantly
- No turn signal sound or warning chimes
- Cluster turning on late or restarting when the ignition is switched on
Common causes
Cracked solder joints, worn gauge motors, display and backlight failures, and problems in the power supply or communication lines are the most common causes. If only one gauge shows an incorrect value, the cause is usually the related sensor.
What to check before replacement
- The cluster's part number and equipment level, for example gasoline or diesel and display type, must match your vehicle.
- Work with an authorized service center to transfer the mileage data correctly. Altering the mileage reading is illegal, and ECUALL does not provide this service.
- On some vehicles, the cluster is part of the immobilizer system and requires pairing after replacement.

FAQ
Does the mileage change when the instrument cluster is replaced?
A newly fitted cluster may show the mileage stored in its own memory. For the mileage to match the vehicle's actual value, the data must be transferred correctly by an authorized service center. ECUALL does not offer mileage rollback services.
If the gauges don't work, is the cluster faulty?
If all gauges stop together, the cause may be the cluster or the power supply. If only one gauge isn't working, the related sensor or the unit sending the speed signal should also be checked.
Can a cluster with different equipment be fitted?
Even if it can be fitted, problems may occur with the display, warning lights or immobilizer communication. An exactly matching part number is recommended.
